What is Starship ?
Starship Spacecraft and Super Heavy rocket collectively known as Starship.
It is a fully reusable transportation system designed to carry both crews and cargo to the Earth Orbit, The Moon, Mars and beyond.
Capable of carrying upto 150 metric tons fully reusable and 250 metric tons expendable.
Components of Starship :
1. Super Heavy:
- First Stage, or booster of the Starship launch System.
- Powered by 33 Raptor engines with 13 in Center and remaining 20 around the perimeter of the booster's aft end using sub-cooled Methane(CH4) and liquid Oxygen(LOX).
- It is 9m wide and 69m tall which is capable of providing thrust close to 7600 tons of thrust.
2. Starship Spacecraft:
- Second stage of the Starship System.
- It offers Integrated payload section.
- Payload capacity: Max upto 150 tons.
- It is 50m in height and 9m wide.
- Provides thrust upto 1500 ton of thrust.
3. Raptor Engines:
Raptor Vaccum ( RVAC):-
- Reusable Methane-Oxygen staged Combustion engine.
- Starship spacecraft will be powered by six engines, three Raptor engines and three Raptor Vaccum (RVAC) engines, designed for use in Vaccum of Space.
- It is 3.1m in height and 1.3 m wide capable of generating 230 tons of thrust.
With Starship it may be Possible to travel to other Planets of the Solar System and beyond in the near future.
